Here's the Official Statement Club parts company with head coach Sunderland AFC have parted company with head coach Gus Poyet this afternoon. The club would like to place on record its’ thanks to Gus and wishes him well for the future. Chairman Ellis Short said: “I would like to thank Gus for his endeavours during his time at the club, in particular last season’s ‘great escape’ and cup final appearance, which will live long in the memory of every Sunderland fan. “Sadly, we have not made the progress that any of us had hoped for this season and we find ourselves battling, once again, at the wrong end of the table. We have therefore made the difficult decision that a change is needed.” An announcement will be made in due course regarding the head coach position. Two more PL Managers hit the wall this weekend as Dick announced his resignation from the Unwashed, just in time to give another Mackem manager a shot at instant fame, while Brenda Rodgers received his P45 by telephone call. As always in these situations the media have gone mental about who will take over from those leaving, almost before they have had an opportunity to say goodbye. Dick just looked knackered on Saturday during his TV duties, while Rodgers was like someone on death row waiting for the reprieve call. One man not given enough money to spend to make any difference while the other was probably given too much. I guess Dick now heads back to Holland to enjoy retirement with his Mrs while Rodgers waits for the next phone call from a Club in deep enough trouble to offer him another chance. Just a matter of time before he is linked to The Toon... Lights Oot!

It's like Villa also have a revolving door to their managers office...and do they use the same writer of Club Statements as The Toon? Aston Villa Football Club has parted company with manager Tim Sherwood today (Sunday). The Board has monitored the performances closely all season and believes the results on the pitch were simply not good enough and that a change is imperative. However, the Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Tim for all his efforts during a difficult period last season and for the many positive contributions he has made to the entire football setup during his time with the Club. We wish him well in the future. Assistant manager Ray Wilkins (why Clubs keep giving this guy a job is beyond me!), first-team coach Mark Robson and performance analyst Seamus Brady have also left with immediate effect and do so with our best wishes. A search for a new manager has commenced and the squad will be managed in the interim by Kevin MacDonald. There will be no further comment from the Club at this stage. That's alright then...! Lights Oot!

Swansea City have sacked manager Garry Monk after 22 months in charge. The 36-year-old leaves the club at which he spent the last 11 years, ending his playing career at the Liberty Stadium to manage the team in February 2014. After guiding Swansea to their second-highest league finish last season - eighth in the Premier League - Monk and his team have struggled for results this term and have won one of their last 12 matches in all competitions. Chairman Huw Jenkins said: "The decision has been made very reluctantly and with a heavy heart. "To find ourselves in our current situation, from where we were in the first week of September, and considering the drop of performance levels and run of results over the last three months, it has brought us to this unfortunate decision today. "Garry took on the job 22 months ago with the backing of everyone at the club. And when you take into account the excellent campaign we had last season, when we broke all club records in the Premier League, nobody foresaw the position we would be in at this moment in time. "Bearing that in mind and the current uncertainty around the club, we felt the situation needed clarity to move forward. It was not a decision we took lightly, especially given Garry's history and standing within the club. "And it goes without saying that we wish Garry all the very best for the future and thank him for his tremendous service, not only as a player over the last decade, but also as our manager. He will always have a warm welcome at this football club. "We hope to appoint a replacement as soon as possible.'' Sky Sports News HQ reported earlier on Wednesday that relations between Monk and a number of his players had become strained in recent weeks, including Jonjo Shelvey and captain Ashley Williams. Monk was given the backing of Jenkins last month after two successive defeats following their third Premier League win of the season over Aston Villa. But Sky sources reported earlier this week that Monk's job was under serious threat after a 3 - 0 capitulation at home to Leicester on Saturday. Former Swansea and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is an odds-on favourite with bookmakers to return to the club but Sky sources understand Jenkins has considered Monk's assistant Pep Clotet, who turned down the Brentford head coach job after talks last week. I love these Official Club statements after they get rid of the Manager, Head Coach or whatever other title they bestow on the person that ultimately will carry the can for failure..... Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have today parted company by mutual consent. All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he returned as manager in the summer of 2013. His three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cup wins over two spells make him the most successful manager in our 110-year history. But both Jose and the board agreed results have not been good enough this season and believe it is in the best interests of both parties to go our separate ways. The club wishes to make clear Jose leaves us on good terms and will always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at Chelsea. His legacy at Stamford Bridge and in England has long been guaranteed and he will always be warmly welcomed back to Stamford Bridge. The club’s focus is now on ensuring our talented squad reaches its potential. There will be no further comment until a new appointment is made. Lights Oot!

The Swansea City Supporters’ Trust has urged fans to get behind Alan Curtis after it was confirmed that he will remain as manager until the end of the season. Trust chairman Phil Sumbler said in a statement: “The Supporters’ Trust has been kept fully informed of efforts to secure a permanent managerial appointment and recognise the difficulty that the Club Board has faced. "The continuing uncertainty has however raised concerns among fans and today’s announcement will allow everyone to concentrate fully on what will be a challenging time for all connected with the Swans. “We send the new management team our best wishes and call on all Swans fans to give them full support to ensure that the improved performance levels continue and the Swans move quickly away from our current precarious league position." That's alright then.... Lights Oot!

Another Club statement regarding the departure of a manager, this time from Everton.... Everton Football Club regrets to announce that Roberto Martinez has left his position as First Team Manager with immediate effect.
The Chairman and the Board of Directors would like to place on record their thanks for the dedication and commitment Roberto has shown during his three seasons with the Club.
Roberto has been a great ambassador for the Club, conducting himself, at all times, with the utmost integrity and dignity.
He secured the Club its highest ever Premier League points total, a place in the last 16 of the Europa League and appearances in both domestic cup semi-finals.
He has also played a key role in the development of several young players, managing their progression to the Everton First Team and International honours. All of which did bigger all to save him from the chop. Unless of course he did the noble thing and offered his resignation which was accepted. Mind you I did read today he could be walking away with £12m as his payoff for failure. Lights Oot!

Hardly a surprise this one, however bet it brought many a smile to members of the Toon Army.... Aston Villa Football Club has today parted company with manager Roberto Di Matteo. The Club decided to act following a run of disappointing results which has the left the team occupying 19th position in the Championship. The Club would like to place on record its appreciation to Roberto for all his efforts in helping rebuild the squad and wish him well for the future. Steve Clarke will take over as caretaker manager during the search for a new manager. There will be no further comment from the Club. Bet there's plenty from their fans though. Stuff on Twitter from fans has been brilliant especially to Villa's owner Dr Tony.... Lights Oot!

If Di Matteo was no surprise I guess this one was absolutely nailed on a while back.... Cardiff City have parted company with Paul Trollope, who leaves the club sitting 23rd in the Sky Bet Championship. Trollope was handed the reins at the end of last season, but has managed to pick up just two wins from his 11 league matches at the helm. The Bluebirds were also knocked out of the EFL Cup by his former club, Sky Bet League One side Bristol Rovers. A club statement thanked Trollope for his efforts, before stating a successor will be named in due course. Neil Warnock being heavily linked to this job... Lights Oot!

Here's the official statement from our neighbours doon the road on wearyside............. Sunderland AFC has announced that David Moyes has resigned from his position as manager of the football club. David advised the chairman and chief executive of his decision to leave the club at a meeting in London this morning (Monday 22nd May 2017). Speaking about the decision, chairman Ellis Short stated: “I pursued the services of David Moyes for a considerable period prior to his appointment last summer, which makes the announcement of his departure difficult for everyone concerned. “Having worked tirelessly throughout the campaign to avoid relegation from the Premier League, David has chosen to leave the club without compensation, which is testament to his character. “In the days ahead we will take some time for reflection, and then focus on recruitment and pre-season as we prepare for our Championship campaign. We wish David well in the future.” David Moyes said: “I would like to thank Ellis Short and the Board for giving me the opportunity to manage Sunderland and the fans for always being so passionately supportive of their club. “I wish the players and my successor well in their efforts towards promotion back to the Premier League”. Lights Oot!

Frank de Boer has been sacked by Crystal Palace just 77 days and four games into the job. The Dutchman joined the south London club on 26th June, replacing Sam Allardyce, who had retired after keeping Palace in the Premier League at the end of last season. However, despite ambitions of overhauling Palace's style and establishing them in the top flight for the long-term, De Boer's start of four defeats - and no goals scored - has led the board to sack him. The official statement was as blunt as this... Crystal Palace Football Club have this morning parted company with Frank de Boer. We would like to thank Frank for his dedication and hard work during his time at the Club. A new manager will be appointed in due course and we wish Frank the very best of luck for the future. There will be no further comment at this time. Classy eh! Lights Oot!

Two more in a week and the contrast in Club statements couldn't be more different.... Leicester City Football Club has today (Tuesday) parted company with its First Team Manager, Craig Shakespeare. Michael Appleton will be in charge of the First Team as Caretaker Manager for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Swansea City, supported by First Team Coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler. Leicester City Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “Craig has been a great servant to Leicester City – during his spells as an Assistant Manager and since taking over as Manager in challenging circumstances in February. His dedication to the Club and to his work has been absolute and the contribution he made to the most successful period in Leicester City history is considerable. “However, our early promise under Craig’s management has not been consistently evident in the months since and the Board feels that, regrettably, a change is necessary to keep the Club moving forward – consistent with the long-term expectations of our supporters, Board and owners. “Craig is and will remain a very popular, respected figure at Leicester City and will be welcome back at King Power Stadium in future, both professionally and as a friend of the Club.” The Club will now begin the process of identifying and appointing its next First Team Manager and will make no further comment on the process until the appropriate time. Then there's this... Everton Football Club can confirm that Ronald Koeman has left the Club. Chairman Bill Kenwright, the Board of Directors and Major Shareholder Farhad Moshiri would all like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the Club over the past 16 months and for guiding the Club to seventh place in last season’s Premier League campaign. Sunderland AFC has this evening parted company with manager Simon Grayson. The club would like to place on record its thanks to Simon and his staff for their efforts during their time at the football club. Chief executive Martin Bain said: “Simon and his team have worked tirelessly to achieve the best for the football club during their time here. “While we hoped that Simon’s experience in the Football League would help us to a successful season, results have not been good enough for a club of this stature. “In order for us to improve upon our current position we believe a fundamental change is necessary.” Assistant manager Glynn Snodin also departs. Shame I thought he was doing tremendous job! WL
