Another Premier League managerial casualty this time at West Ham. Not that much of a surprise really, but the official statements are worth reading. First this... West Ham United can confirm that Slaven Bilic has today left his position with the Club. The Chairmen and board of West Ham United would like to place on record their thanks and gratitude to Slaven and his team for their services over the past two-and-a-half years, but believe a change is now necessary in order for the Club to move forward positively and in line with their ambition. West Ham United can confirm that Bilic’s coaching assistants Nikola Jurcevic, Edin Terzic, Julian Dicks and Miljenko Rak have also left the Club with immediate effect. The Club’s search for a new manager to take West Ham United forward is underway and an announcement regarding Bilic’s successor is expected to be made over the coming days. Then there's this from the Sullivan and Gold... It is with disappointment and heavy hearts that we have made the decision to relieve Slaven Bilic of his duties as West Ham United manager. Since joining the Club in the summer of 2015, Slaven has conducted himself throughout with honesty and integrity, and shown great determination and commitment to the role. In his first season - our final campaign at the Boleyn Ground - he led the team to a memorable finish that no Hammers fan will ever forget, and gave us a 3-2 victory against Manchester United in our final home game there that will go down in West Ham United history. During the summer, the Board invested heavily signing the players Slaven believed would complete the squad he needed to push the Club back towards the level we had reached in his first season, and we believe we have the players capable of doing that. Sadly, performances and results have not been of the expected standard and, in recent weeks, we have not seen enough indication of the required improvement to give us the encouragement that things would change and we would meet our Premier League aspirations this season. As custodians of the Football Club it is our responsibility as a Board to do what is best for West Ham United, and we believe a change is now necessary to ensure we can begin to move the team back in the right direction. We see this as an exciting opportunity to appoint a quality manager to the position to inject fresh ideas, organisation and enthusiasm into a very talented squad. We would like to thank Slaven for his efforts and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours. He will always be welcome at London Stadium, as a former player and manager who always gave everything for the Club. We would also like to place on record our sincere thanks to the team of coaches that assisted him. We will now focus our entire efforts on bringing in the manager we believe can get the best out of the current squad of players and steer the Club towards the top half of the table as quickly as possible. David Sullivan and David Gold Before we finally get this from the condemned man himself... I would like to say how proud I am to have been given the opportunity to manage West Ham United Football Club. It has been far more than just a job for me. Having worn the claret and blue shirt as a player, I felt that connection when I returned as manager and I have always known how truly special this club is. I am sad that it hasn’t worked out in the way we wanted this season. But I leave with my head held high, along with some wonderful memories that I will always cherish. My first season in charge was fantastic. We broke so many records, losing only one game against the top six teams home or away, and finishing just four points away from the Champions League places. And for it to end the way it did, on that unforgettable final night at the Boleyn Ground, was sensational. To have been a part of that magical evening is something that will live with me forever. I was confident that we would be able to progress this season and continue to close the gap between expectation levels and reality, but unfortunately it has not been the case. I believe in my qualities and wanted desperately to fight on to turn things around, but I understand the club’s desire to make a change. I would like to thank the Chairmen and the board, for offering me the chance to manage this great club, and for the support they have given me during my time in charge. I would also like to thank the players – some of whom have been here since my very first day as manager – for the effort and commitment they have shown me during the past two-and-a-half years. I thank my coaching team and the staff at the training ground for their support, loyalty and dedication – I have been lucky to have worked with such good people. Finally, I would like to finish by thanking the West Ham United supporters. We had a special bond when I played for the club, and that bond was still there when I returned as manager. I genuinely hope they get the success they deserve and I wish everyone at West Ham United all the very best in the future. Slaven Bilic WL

Hard this Premier League management stuff as another bites the dust... WEST Bromwich Albion have today terminated the contract of Head Coach Tony Pulis. Chairman John Williams said: "These decisions are never taken lightly but always in the interests of the Club. "We are in a results business and over the back end of last season and this season to date, ours have been very disappointing. "We would like to place on record our appreciation of Tony's contribution and hard work during a period of transition for the Club which included a change of ownership. We wish him well in his future endeavours." Assistant Head Coach Gary Megson has agreed to take charge of first-team affairs until further notice. I wonder if Mackems are thinking 'if we had only waited the weekend we could have had Pulis?'...Umm! Lights Oot!

As Freddie and the boys would say...another one bites the dust!
Swansea City can confirm that the club has tonight parted company with head coach Paul Clement. Assistant coaches Nigel Gibbs and Karl Halabi have also left the club.
Swansea City chairman, Huw Jenkins, confirmed: “To change the manager, especially at only the halfway point of the season, is the last thing we wanted to do as a club.
“We had three different managers last season and as a result we all wanted to give Paul as much time as possible to turn things around.
“But we felt we couldn’t leave it any longer and needed to make a change to give us the best chance of an uplift and a turnaround in fortunes with the club bottom of the Premier League.
“Paul has been at the club for 12 months and what he achieved in the second half of last season to keep us in the top flight was a tremendous feat. For that, and his effort and commitment this season, it goes without saying that the club thanks him for his work, together with Nigel (Gibbs) and Karl (Halabi).
“I have had an excellent working relationship with Paul and we are all, including the owners, surprised and disappointed it hasn’t worked out this season.
“We wish Paul every success in his career going forward.’’
The club will give supporters a further update regarding their replacements within the next 24 hours.
Clement was appointed head coach on January 3, 2017, after the dismissal of Bob Bradley as manager. He arrived with a wealth of experience after working with some of the biggest teams in Europe as assistant manager to Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain. He also replaced former England boss Steve McClaren as manager of Championship side Derby County; taking the Rams to fifth in the table before being relieved of his duties. In terms of silverware, Clement helped Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2013, while the year before he had seen Paris Saint-Germain win Ligue 1. His crowning moment came with Real Madrid, for whom he was part of the set-up when they lifted a tenth Champions League title along with winning the Copa Del Rey.
Clement's other roles included working in the youth set up at Fulham along with a short spell with Republic of Ireland Under-21s.
He took over at Swansea last season with the club bottom of the Premier League and tipped as odds-on favourites for relegation. But he sparked a remarkable turnaround with four wins from his first six games, including an impressive victory at Liverpool, to earn himself the Premier League Manager of the Month award for January. With things looking up, a poor run of six games without a win put the Swans in trouble again and relegation looked a serious possibility. The Great Escape was complete, however, when Clement led his side to four wins and a draw from the last five games to finish the campaign in 15th place and six points clear of the drop zone. But Clement couldn’t repeat last season’s late form with just three wins and three draws from the opening 18 games leaving the Swans bottom of the Premier League again on 12 points.
Swansea City would like to thank Paul, Nigel and Karl for their services and commitment to the club and wish them well in their next challenges.

and another one.... STOKE CITY can confirm that the contract of manager Mark Hughes has been terminated with immediate effect. We would like to thank Mark for all he has achieved for the Club over the last four and a half years, notably in guiding us to three successive ninth places finishes in the Premier League, and we wish him every success for the future. The Club will look to appoint a new manager as soon as possible and will be making no further comment at this time. WL

This is getting beyond a joke...the buggers aren't even getting an opportunity to fail now! Watford Football Club has parted company with Marco Silva. This has been a difficult decision and one not taken lightly. The Club is convinced the appointment of Silva was the right one and had it not been for the unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival for his services we would have continued to prosper under his leadership. The catalyst for this decision is that unwarranted approach, something which the Board believes has seen a significant deterioration in both focus and results to the point where the long-term future of Watford FC has been jeopardised. For the security and success of the football club, the Board believes it has to make a change. The Club will seek to make a swift appointment and there will be no further comment until that appointment has been made. WL

I really find these Club statements highly entertaining after a manager gets the boot... Southampton Football Club can today confirm that it has parted company with First Team Manager Mauricio Pellegrino.
Assistant Manager Carlos Compagnucci and Assistant First Team Coach Xavier Tamarit have also parted company with the club.
We would like to place on record our thanks to Mauricio, Carlos and Xavier for their efforts during their time with Southampton, and wish them well for the future.
The club will look to appoint a new management team as soon as possible, with the search for a replacement already underway. In case you are not fully up to speed with this the favourite to replace Pellegrino is Mark Hughes...talk about jumping out of the frying pan into the fire! It almost rivals WBA appointment of Pardew after Pulis. Lights Oot!

I suppose this one has been coming.... West Bromwich Albion and Alan Pardew have agreed to mutually part company today following discussions between both parties. Assistant Head Coach John Carver will also be leaving. The Club would like to thank Alan and John for their efforts and wish them well in their future endeavours. First-team coach Darren Moore has been placed in charge of first team affairs until further notice. The Club will not be making any further comment at this time. Lights Oot!

This came out of Fulham today.... Claudio Ranieri Named Manager Of Fulham Football Club Wednesday 14 November 2018 09:15 Shahid Khan, Chairman of Fulham Football Club, today announced that he has appointed Claudio Ranieri as Manager of Fulham Football Club, replacing Slaviša Jokanović. Ranieri, who led Leicester City to the Premier League title in 2016, was given a multi-year contract to lead Fulham, who currently sit at the bottom of the table with five points from 12 matches. Fulham’s next match is Saturday 24th November versus Southampton at Craven Cottage. “It is an honour to accept Mr. Khan’s invitation and opportunity to lead Fulham, a fantastic club with tradition and history,” Ranieri said. “The objective at Fulham should never be to merely survive in the Premier League. We must at all times be a difficult opponent and should expect to succeed. This Fulham squad has exceptional talent that is contrary to its position in the table. I know this team is very capable of better performances, which we will work on straight away as we prepare for Southampton at the Cottage.” Khan thanked Jokanović for his service to Fulham, where he led the Club to two consecutive Play-Off appearances in the Sky Bet Championship and a 1 - 0 win over Aston Villa at Wembley Stadium in May to secure promotion to the Premier League. “I wasn’t anticipating having to make this announcement related to Slaviša and wish the circumstances were such that I didn’t have to, but our path this season has led me to make what I know is the correct decision, at the right time, for our players, the Club and our supporters,” Khan said. “Slaviša will always have my appreciation and respect for everything he did to return Fulham to top-flight football. I am hoping everyone in the Fulham Family shares my heartfelt sentiments for Slaviša and joins me in wishing him success and good fortune, wherever his next stop may be.” Khan said he and his son Tony Khan, Vice Chairman and Director of Football Operations at FFC, considered and spoke with a number of potential candidates within the past week, with Ranieri becoming their mutual and obvious choice. Tony Khan and his staff will continue to oversee First Team player recruitment and contractual agreements, and he will work closely with Ranieri. “Making a change without having the right answer or succession plan was not an option, so having someone of Claudio’s calibre ready to accept our challenge was comforting but, most of all, essential,” Khan said. “Claudio is risk-free and ready-made for the Premier League, and particularly so for what we need at this moment at Fulham. His recent body of work with Leicester City is literally legendary, and then you look at Claudio’s experience with Chelsea and big clubs throughout Europe, and it’s pretty evident we are welcoming an extraordinary football man to Fulham Football Club.” That's alright then... I honestly think these statements get better depending upon who it is gets the boot. Southampton Football Club can today (Monday) confirm it has parted company with First Team Manager Mark Hughes. Assistant First Team Manager Mark Bowen and Assistant First Team Coach Eddie Niedzwiecki have also left the club. We would like to express our thanks to Mark and his staff for all of their efforts during their time at St Mary’s. The search for a new manager to take the club forward is already under way. First Team Assistant Coach Kelvin Davis will lead the team for Wednesday’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley. And that as they say is that! Lights Oot!

I thought the Southampton one was pretty blunt then you read this from Manchester United... Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect. The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future. A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager. I suppose the £18m pay off will soften the blow. WL

Then of course there's the old mutual consent arrangement....
Head Coach leaves the Club by mutual consent
- David Wagner has departed his role as Head Coach of Huddersfield Town - Wagner leaves the Club by mutual consent after discussions with the Board - Comments from Chairman Dean Hoyle
David Wagner has today departed his role as Head Coach of Huddersfield Town by mutual consent. The 47-year-old leaves Town after detailed discussions with the Board of Directors, with both parties agreeing this is the correct move for the future of the Club.
Huddersfield Town Chairman Dean Hoyle explained:
“I’d like to begin by thanking David for all he has achieved at Huddersfield Town over the last three-and-a-half years. Under his stewardship, we’ve achieved things on the football pitch that surpass anything in modern memory, and that have gone well beyond my wildest expectations as Chairman and as a fan.
“Under David’s management, we took this Club to the highest position it has held in almost 50 years and created memories that will last forever.
“His achievements will rightly put him up there in Huddersfield Town history alongside great names like Herbert Chapman and Mick Buxton; legendary managers who changed the face of this Club.
“As I had said previously, I had no intention of sacking David this season. Subsequently David – being the great man he is – came to us and made it clear that he needs a break from the rigours of football management.
“We discussed making that change immediately, but he also made it clear that he would give his all for the rest of this season before departing in the summer if we preferred. After a long discussion we all felt that David staying at the Club until the end of the season was best, but we’ve kept discussions open and we all now feel that the time is right to part ways.
“I know the term ‘mutual consent’ is often a byword for the manager being sacked in professional football, but this is a truly joint decision. David has a real, genuine love for this Club and, like me, his foremost concern in our talks has been to establish what is best for Huddersfield Town.
“I cannot thank David enough for what he has achieved. Along with his family, he will always be a friend to me and Huddersfield Town.”
Dean continued:
“It’s a very sad day, but now we have to look to the future; that’s what football and our immediate situation demands.
“I’ve asked Mark Hudson to take this weekend’s Premier League game against Manchester City. He knows how to play our game at its best and he knows the squad, so he’s perfectly placed to do so. Along with the technical staff, we’ll give him all the support we can ahead of the game.”
Admittedly Town, unlike our lot in charge have done on far too many occasions, have not hung around in making a new appointment so perhaps they were prepared for this situation.

Here's the Official Leicester view on how to do it.... Leicester City Football Club has today (Sunday) parted company with Claude Puel, who leaves his position as First Team Manager with immediate effect. The Club would like to thank Claude for his efforts in leading the team during his 16 months in the role and wish him well in his future career. Assistant Manager Jacky Bonnevay also departs with the Club’s best wishes. First Team Coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler, supported by the Club’s established backroom staff, will assume responsibility for the senior squad while the Club begins the process of appointing a new manager. The Board will make no further comment until this process is complete. That's alright then! Lights Oot!

Something a bit different from Fulham.... Fulham Football Club Chairman Shahid Khan today named Scott Parker as Caretaker Manager, replacing Claudio Ranieri. Khan released this statement following his conversation with Ranieri: “Following our discussion this afternoon, Claudio Ranieri agreed to my decision that a change was in the best interest of everyone. No surprise to me, Claudio was a perfect gentleman, as always. Claudio’s tenure at Fulham didn’t produce the outcome we anticipated and needed when I appointed him as Manager in November, but be assured he is not solely to blame for the position we are in today. “Claudio walked into a difficult situation, inheriting a side that gained only one point in its prior eight matches, and he provided an immediate boost by leading our Club to nine points in his first eight matches as Manager. Though we were unable to maintain that pace thereafter, I am grateful for his effort. Claudio leaves Fulham as our friend and he will undoubtedly experience success again soon. “I am asking Scott Parker to serve as our Caretaker Manager. Scott’s immediate assignment is merely to help us stabilize, grow and rediscover ourselves as a football club. If Scott can answer that challenge, and our players respond to the opportunity, perhaps victories will follow in the months ahead. “What’s most important at this moment, however, is to regroup in a smart and deliberate manner that will serve our long-term vision for sustainable success. If we’re able to do that and win some matches to make a stand late in the season, all the better.” Claudio Ranieri added: “I am obviously disappointed with the recent results and that we could not build on the good start we made following my appointment. Finally, I would like to thank the Club, the players and the fans for the support they have given me during my time at the Club.” WL
