This thread now reminds me of that great monologue by George Carlin about 'Stuff'.... Anyway here's more of it about The Toon.
Number of sources stating Hatem Ben Arfa hasn’t gone with Newcastle United on their training trip to Abu Dhabi. Quite why the French wing wizard didn’t travel to the Middle East with his team-mates after Saturday’s 3-1 win over West Ham is obscure as in typical fashion The Club has made no comment. Although some believe he stayed behind in London with Newcastle’s permission. Lunch with Appy Arry Redknapp or sales meeting with Joe Feckinghere anyone?
Meantime right on cue comes a host of stories linking Cabaye with a transfer to PSG with a price tag of between £21m and £26m being quoted.
While following Montpellier coach Rolland Courbis outburst about Newcastle wanting Remy Cabella it now appears any deal will be decided between The Toon's most benevolent owner and his Montpellier counterpart Louis Nicollin.

Niall &Biffa at .com have this lot on their website the neet; Absence: Hatem excused trip A couple of newspapers have picked up on the fact that Hatem Ben Arfa wasn't among the Newcastle squad that flew out to Abu Dhabi following Saturdays' victory. The official line is that he's been permitted to miss the trip and remained in London on Saturday. The French -born player has been given leave to visit relatives in Tunisia during previous seasons and something similar seems likely now, rather than a transfer-related matter. Speculation: De Jong decision near The future of unsettled Borussia Monchengladbach striker Luuk De Jong remains the subject of much speculation, but he was included in the party for a week-long training camp staged during the Bundesliga's mid-season break. The 23 year-old Dutch international featured in all but one of the four friendly matches his side played during their time in Turkey, but without ending his goal drought. De Jong remains in contention for a place in the squad when third-placed Monchengladbach return to league action this Friday at home to leaders Bayern Munich. However a declared intention to force his way back into the reckoning for a first team starting place during the training camp looks to have failed. German magazine Bild noted that a quartet of forwards - Max Kruse, Branimir Hrgota, Raffael and Peniel Mlapa - are all favoured more by coach Lucien Favre and a failure to be named among the substitutes for Friday's game would see De Jong admit defeat and head for pastures new. Hmmm!!! As usual, bugger aal coming from the powers that be at SJP

Remy Cabella - will become Newcastle player in the summer We assume this means that a contract agreement has been reached with both Montpellier on the fee, and with Remy Cabella on his wages and the deal will be completed at the end of the season, and that Cabella will become a Newcastle player on July 1st. This is what Montpellier Chairman Laurent Nicollin has just told the French site Midi Libre:
“We have an agreement with the leaders of Newcastle that I will not reveal,” ”But it does not include a departure for Remy before June, it is a certainty.” .

NEWCASTLE United are yet to bid for Remy Cabella.
Montpellier’s chairman, Laurent Nicollin, was quoted by French newspaper Midi Libre earlier today as saying that there was an “agreement” in place between the two clubs over the sale of the Cabella in the summer.
However, Nicollin, son of Montpellier president Louis, has since back-tracked, and denied a deal has been struck.
Newcastle are interested in the attacking midfielder, but the Gazette understands the club is yet to make a formal bid for the 23-year-old

You could not make it up. FFS.Napoli may look to move for Montpellier playmaker Remy Cabella if Marek Hamsik leaves the club, SportsDirect News understands. Newcastle United had looked the favourites to sign Cabella over the last few days, though recent reports suggest the move may have hit a snag.

According to Sly Sports Newcastle are considering whether to enter the chase for Basel’s Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
At the beginning of the transfer window, Mohamed Salah’s transfer to Liverpool seemed to be almost done, when his former team-mate Mohamed Zika claimed in an interview he was 99% sure that Salah will be joining The Red Scousers this January. Then negotiations reportedly stalled for a while as Liverpool were unwilling to match Basel’s £18million asking price. However, it's now understood talks are still ongoing and Brendan Rodgers is reportedly readying a £8million bid for Salah this week.
Despite that Newcastle are believed to be now considering to enter the chase for Basel’s 21-year-old Egyptian star in an attempt to secure a Europa League qualifying spot.
Salah has already had his share of tormenting EPL defenses since Basel’s Europa League campaign last season, when he scored a goal against Spurs and Chelsea in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively. The Egypt international has also put in two MOTM performances against Chelsea in the Champions League this season, as he scored in each group stage fixture to help down Mourinho’s side. Several clubs have entered the race for Mohamed Salah ever since with interest mainly coming from England, Germany and Spain. The Egyptian international has been linked with Diego Simione’s La Liga contenders Atlético Madrid, Russian League leaders Zenti St. Petersburg as well as Turkish giants Galatasaray.
The winger has massively improved his goal scoring abilities, with as many goals for Basel this season as he scored in the entirety of last season. 21-year-old Salah has also scored 17 goals and assisted 10 times for the Pharaohs in 27 games.

More developments in the Luuk de Jong transfer saga with the Toon hopeful of finally landing the Dutch striker (they offered £10m for him last summer) in time to make his debut against Norwich next Tuesday. The main reason for such optimism appears to be the withdrawal of Ajax and PSV in the race to sign the 23-year-old Borussia Monchengladbach striker. With the Dutch pair apparently having been priced out of any deal it leaves The Mags in pole position in a transfer possibly worth up to £8.5million. Whether that still also includes Papiss Cisse as part of a player-plus-cash deal is open to further speculation, however the Senegal international has been widely reported as stating he wasn’t interested in the move. That said the clubs could still push through a loan with a view to a permanent deal to beat the clock and ensure the transfer is successfully completed this month.

Cisse is wanted by Besiktas on loan until the end of this season. The Turkish Club have allegedly made an approach although may only be prepared to offer £7.5m for any permanent transfer during summer.

Further news from Southern France that are in negotiations with Moroccan born Moustapha Kaka. This midfielder is a solid passer with very fluid movements.. He always wears skintight strips, and is always touching cloth. His nickname is Skid, because of his middle name Mark. His positional sense is aromatic, but nasty. Dont know the credibility of this story....or whether its just another load of shit to make up the total transfer bullshit that surrounds Joe Feckinear and anybody associated with the Fatman. WE AINT BUYING ANYBODY UNLESS WE SELL SOMEBODY.............AND ONLY AT A PROFIT...........GET REAL GUYS.
