Just watched W Ham vs Palace.......Pardew 's tactics with a team who could not buy a win months ago were there to be seen....his record there particularly away from home is 100%..........Shit ..he even brought Shola on to hold their position when down to 10 men. Palace get better as we get worse.......the only common denominator in our situation is the fat bastard megalomaniac who owns our club. I always liked AP and always will...........bring it on Capn..............

It's an interesting viewpoint Canny.
Pulis also managed to turn Palace around at a crucial stage during last season while his successor Warnock couldn't buy a result as you say.
While I don't have the level of admiration for APee that you appear too it has to be said when he first arrives at a Club he generally performs very well. It's as time moves on it deteriorates. Not that I'm suggesting for one minute APee was entirely to blameless for everything that happened during his time at The Toon, far from it. Yet I do get the impression from some media reports I have read since he went to Palace that APee had his hands tied almost permanently while up here which is far from true.
From my point of view the guy did his best under difficult conditions and will go down as one of those Managers that when it was good it was enjoyable, however when it was bad it was bloody awful. Never getting close to a Sir Bobby or Keegan, but nowhere as bad as Big Sham or dare I mention the bloke, Sourmess!

True, but my point was about comparison not an attempt to list every manager that should never have got close to managing our club never mind actually doing so. The trauma of naming them all could very well tip me over the edge into major depression.

From my meetings with you I thought major depression was already a part of your life.......and only frequent meetings with me kept you sane and above water. No thanks are necessary mate!

I hope the Capn isn't swimming on by......... Such is my state of mind regarding The Toon that I look upon your infrequent visits as small blessings in a disturbed life cycle. The regular smites of course not counting towards what is an uncommon relationship to say the least. Long may it last! Umm! on third thoughts.........perhaps I should quit now while I'm ahead. Lights Oot!

Although I can appreciate the use of 'organism' when referring to OMBO I was expecting the word orgasm..........bit premature I guess eh! Lights Oot! blackandwhitethinking

Pardew was inept.
He has one saving grace and that is he always does well the first season with someone else's team.
He adapts his tactics to suit the team. The problem is he is also a fool. It doesn't matter how good his teams perform whilst doing this, he has to eventually get his team playing to the tactics he prefers.
When he manages this he gets sacked because his preferred tactics aren't even good enough for schoolboy level.
