Its been confirmed on the Official NUFC site today that Newcastle United winger Jonas Gutierrez has joined Norwich City on loan for the remainder of the season (until 30 June 2014).
The 30-year-old Argentina International joined the Magpies in July 2008 and in five and half seasons on Tyneside, made 195 appearances, scoring 11 goals.

There's some intriguing reports circulating around the web regarding The Mags and Leicester City.
According to The Daily Star, Newcastle are among a number of Premier League Club seeking to obtain the signature of highly rated Leicester City centre-back Liam Moore.
The Loughborough born defender has been in excellent form for Nigel Pearson’s side this season and has also earned a solitary England Under-21 cap for his efforts. Leciester have been in inspired form recently in The Championship, and head the table with a four point gap separating them from Burnley. Moore has been key to The Foxes’ defensive resilience, but his form has not gone unnoticed, hence Moore has attracted admiring glances from a number of clubs, although Pearson will be reluctant to sell one of his prize assets. However, with Leicester trying to balance the books in order to toe the line with the incoming financial fair play regulations manager Pearson is likely to be advised that he has to sell before new additions can be brought in to boost the promotion push so bids for 20 year-old Moore may be considered.
Along similar lines there's also this story where Newcastle United are said to be looking at talented Leicester City midfielder Anthony Knockaert, perhaps as a direct replacement for Jonas Gutierrez.
Apparently The Mags had a scout watching The Foxes impressive 4-1 win over rivals Derby County last Friday night and the young Frenchman is the man they have been watching, according to sources. The winger has also played an important part in Leicester’s season, however it's claimed should it end without promotion to the Premier League, Knockaert could jump ship regardless. The 22 year old has two French under 21 caps and has scored a respectable 12 goals from the wing in 67 league appearances since joining Leicester from Ligue 2 club Guingamp for £900,000 eighteen months ago.

On the out going side rather than incoming it appears another London Club is interested in taking Saylor off the books at Newcastle.
This time it's Crystal Palace who are attempting to broker some kind of deal, although a major stumbling block in any transfer appears to be wages with the player on something like £45,000 a week.

Here is an absolute gem of a story from our most benevolent owners very own Sh*t Direct News outlet....by Ignatius J. Reilly, and you just have to love the guys name.
15th January 2014 5:25pm GMT
Fulham could make a move for out-of-favour Newcastle United winger Gabriel Obertan after Cottagers head coach Rene Meulensteen set his sights on younger flair players for his side.
Jet-heeled (PMSL) Obertan played under Meulensteen when the Dutchman was Sir Alex Ferguson’s first-team coach at Manchester United.
At 24-years-old, he fits the criteria the Fulham coach has drawn up for the January transfer window, as he looks to overhaul an ageing and under-performing squad. (If he buys the bewildered light-bulb he will have a younger under-performing squad member)
It is understood that a loan move is the London outfit’s preferred option this month, with a view to a permanent deal in the summer if they secure their Premier League status.
However, if the funds are available to seal a permanent move now, it is hard to see Newcastle manager Alan Pardew turning down the opportunity to sell the Frenchman (you better believe it!), who rarely figures in his first-team plans.
Obertan’s switch to Fulham hinges on the progress Meulensteen makes with his other targets, including Queens Park Rangers wideman Shaun Wright-Phillips.

With the Transfer window period now half gone there are a number of reports which depending upon your perspective (fed up already or salivating at prospect of new players joining) pretty much sums up what it is to currently support The Toon.
According to former NUFC employee Decka LyingBas***d's favourite rag The Daily Snail Newcastle United director of football Joe Kinnear is expected in Germany in a bid to clinch a swap deal between Papiss Cisse and Borussia Monchengladbach striker Luuk de Jong.
The 23-year-old Holland international is (allegedly) Newcastle’s prime target in the winter transfer window and rated at £12million by his club.
Newcastle, who missed out on the forward when he left FC Twente for Monchengladbach last summer, are willing to sacrifice Senegal striker Cisse to secure a deal. Although Cisse is understood to prefer the opportunity to prove himself at St James’ Park, the 28-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular starting place this season and his recent goal from penalty spot against Stoke City was his first since April.
Last week an unnamed Qatari club expressed their interest in signing the striker who has played in Germany previously for Freiburg before his £9million move to Tyneside. His 22 goals in his first season remains a club record. (Will check that last bit...)
Kinnear is due to hold face-to-face talks with Monchengladbach officials today and a possible loan deal for De Jong, with a view to a permanent summer move is another option he will be prepared to discuss before matching Monchengladbach’s evaluation.
Which on the face of it is positive until you read other reports....including this from Ronnie Gill
Newcastle United are set to resist a bid for Siem De Jong this January. The Magpies are also unlikely to pursue Blackpool’s Tom Ince – despite both players being offered around a host of Premier League clubs, including United.
Yet Newcastle are still hoping De Jong’s younger brother Luuk agrees to a loan deal before the window slams shut - even though Stoke City believe they are still in the race to land the Borussia Monchengladach striker.
Ajax star Siem De Jong, 24, has told his representatives he is prepared to quit the Eredivisie side this winter and, just like his brother, the Chronicle understands Newcastle are a club which would interest him. Snapping up both of the De Jong brothers would be the type of deal which would excite United fans if the club could pull it off. (I'm not so sure as that, are you?)
Yet they continue to play a game of patience (Is that what it is...umm!) in the window and Newcastle will stick to their strict transfer blueprint – only buying those who they see as the “right player” for the “right price”. (Cheap comes to mind...FFS!)
De Jong senior said this week: “I plan to leave Ajax, that is my intention.
“I want a new challenge.”
The Holland international is the type of player United fans appreciate too, but a summer move would be the most likely.
Boss Alan Pardew has made the journey to Holland to see him in action before, but the £9million price tag remains too high at this moment for Newcastle. However, the game changer for the Magpies would be if Yohan Cabaye quits St James’ Park next summer with De Jong senior then likely to come back into serious consideration. The Ajax ace is a number 10 by trade but Cabaye has played in that role lately and that is a system United are eager to use more as Pardew tries to keep fans entertained. Cabaye has given his word he will see out January on Tyneside but should Newcastle be blown away by a huge bid the man from Ajax has made his intentions clear he is ready to play in the Premier League.
Pardew is also a fan of Blackpool winger Ince. The Seasiders star is another player desperate for his Premier League chance and, while he did turn down the chance of a move to Cardiff City last summer, he is thought to be hopeful of a bid from a bigger name. Pardew still has faith in Sammy Ameobi and is hoping to give him a chance in 2014 to prove his worth after several months on the sidelines.
With just over two weeks left of what has been a flat transfer window so far, Toon fans are growing anxious over the prospect of new faces. Newcastle hope to address that clamour for a new face by sealing a loan move for De Jong.
So there you have it with Luuk de Jong possibly the only player to come through the SJP doors this January and that's if Joe Feckinhere can convince the selling Club to do some kind of swap deal with Cisse or lower their demands. Terrific! I almost miss Lamba****d.... I said almost!
